On the evening of May 17, 2025, the Closing and Awards Ceremony of the HCMUE 2025 Student Drama Festival took place at Hall B, marking the end of a dynamic and emotionally charged day of performances celebrating creativity and human values.
Comrade Nguyen Vu Hoai An, Deputy Head of the Office of Political Education and Student Affairs and Secretary of the HCMUE Youth Union, together with Comrade Tran Dinh Phong, Standing Committee Member and President of the Vietnam Union of Students at the university, presented letters of appreciation and flowers to the judging panel
This year's festival welcomed 20 teams from various departments, branch campuses, and the Experimental High School, featuring over 500 student performers from across the university. Their performances embraced a wide array of themes — from revolutionary ideals, friendship, teacher–student and family bonds, to youthful aspirations, environmental protection, school culture, and contemporary social issues — all of which deeply resonate with today’s youth.
Dramatic performances at the event
All of the featured plays not only showcased a rich variety of genres, but also conveyed profound messages and demonstrated high artistic value. From heroic historical tales and heartfelt tributes to previous generations to aspirations for a brighter future, each performance was meticulously crafted — from script and direction to acting and stage design. Many of these pieces left a lasting impression on both the audience and the judging panel, thanks to their creativity, inspiring messages, and the emotional expressiveness of the student performers.
The judging panel, composed of seasoned professionals in the field of theatre, worked with seriousness and integrity to select the most outstanding performances, recognizing the talent and dedication of each participating team.
The 2025 Drama Festival was not merely a talent competition, but also a vibrant artistic platform where students could connect, learn, and develop essential soft skills, while nurturing a love for the performing arts within the school community. Its success serves as a strong motivation for the university to continue promoting meaningful cultural and artistic initiatives in the future.
